What we had tonight!!!

Well I know I have been bad about this web site.  I have been bad about a lot of things.  Feel like there is just not enough time in the day lately.  I have been trying to get Christmas presents, Christmas Letters, and everyday life done.  I just don't have the time and to be honest with you have been lazy lately.  Today for supper I went back to my go to web site and crock pot.  We actually used the crock pot three times this week!!!  I love the idea of making it in the morning and forgetting about it until you have to put it on the plate.

So this is what we had for supper tonight.  I really liked it and the meat was very tender.  I added more broth to mine and still thought that it needed a little more at the end.

Beef Stroganoff With Cream Cheese

1& 1/4 pound cubed beef stew meat
2 can condensed cream of mushroom soup (98% fat free for a healthier choice)
1 chopped onion
2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1/4 c. water (or a little more if you want saucy). I use beef broth or red wine or a mixture of both
dash of garlic salt
8 oz cream cheese (cut up)
Egg noodles or Amish noodles

In slow cooker, combine uncooked meat and all ingredients EXCEPT cream cheese and noodles.

Cook on low setting for 8 hrs or high for about 5 hrs. Approx. 15-20 min before serving, add the cream cheese; stir occasionally until melted. Approx. 10 minutes before serving, add uncooked noodles, push down in sauce to get lightly coated; replace lid, but stir occasionally until noodles are soft & ready to eat.

*A small can of mushrooms or fresh mushrooms is a good addition.

You can serve with sour cream or not if you wish.

This is what I just ate.

So this is what I made for supper.  I thought it was pretty good.  Madison also thought it was okay enough to eat.  Kenton on the the other hand did not care for it.  My husband will have it for lunch tomorrow and then I will know if it is a hit or miss.  One of the things that I thought was very interesting about it was that it used 7up.  If you are not a big garlic person then this meal is not for you.  I got this from one of my usual web sites CROCKIN GIRL'S.  Hope you made it for your family.

Crock Pot Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken

6 servings
½ day ,10 min prep

1 large chicken, cut into serving pieces (I just used chicken breasts.)
1 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup vinegar
1/4 cup Sprite or 7-Up soda
2-3 tablespoons minced garlic
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon pepper (regular black or cayenne)

1. Place chicken in crock pot.
2. Mix all remaining ingredients and pour over chicken.
3. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
4. Serve over rice or noodles.
5. You can thicken the juices after cooking with a little cornstarch
